Then join us for a 3 or 4 day trip as we rejuvenate our souls in God's great outdoors with a blockbuster camping experience, soaking in all the amazing sights and sounds of the deep forest of North Carolina! DESTINATION: We will be venturing deep into the mountains of North Carolina to a remote campground known as Standing Indian. With gorgeous rocky creeks, pristine forests, beautiful waterfalls and jaw-dropping scenic vistas, makes this a treasure-trove of scenic discovery! TIME: 11am Friday - Noon Sunday (WE ARE ON RAIN OR SHINE) COST $99.95 per person (includes camping fees, meals, snacks and drinks) SPOTS ARE LIMITED AND WILL GO FAST!!!! Thursday arrival Thurs -Sun additional $19.95 REFUNDS: Reservations are Non-refundable after Thursday, July 16th. HIKING LEVEL- D2-D4. TEMPS: Day 70-85, Night 65-75 ATTIRE: Rain coat, 2 pairs of shoes in case one gets wet, shorts and long pants and modest a swimsuit. WHAT TO BRING: Sleeping Bag, Pad(no bigger than twin), extra blanket, Pillow, Flashlight, Jacket, Rain coat, daypack, towel, toiletries, camera, Bible. Optional things: Hiking poles, Camp chair, Bug spray. WHAT NOT TO BRING: Children, pets or alcohol! TENT INFO: You may bring your own tent if you wish. BATHROOMS: Showers and running water. WOOHOO!!! AGENDA: Hiking to remarkable scenery, and to unknown remote waterfalls and scenic mountain vistas each day, facilitated connecting, campfire worship music, roasting marshmallows, challenging devotional, and much relaxation and hanging out. ALL MEALS, DRINKS & SNACKS (included in your cost- menu subject to change): Thursday • Self-sustained – bring your own food, snacks and drinks Friday •Fruit and Cereal • Lunch-Sandwich meat with all the fix'ins • Dinner- Beefy Mac and Cheese. Saturday • Breakfast- Pancakes and Bacon • Lunch-Sandwich meat with all the fix'ins, snacks • Dinner- Spaghetti and salad. Sunday • Breakfast-Cereal CARPOOLING: You will have to drive through a creek to get to the campsite, but it is only 6 inches deep. Many people that carpool just meet and leave cars at others houses. If on FB, please post in comments on event when you're leaving and how many passengers you can take. These are set up only as a convenience, for we do not know who will be where. TRAVEL TIME: Approx 2.5 hours ONCE IN CAMPGROUND: Follow signs to Groupsites B&C KEEP IN MIND: that there are always dangerous elements when out in nature: Cliffs, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, icy, rocky and have steep embankments. Shoes may get muddy or wet. Many times the woods are your only bathroom.
