Are you ready to see one of Georgia’s amazing and unusual geographical formations? Sure you are! So, come join us as we explore Georgia’s “Little Grand Canyon” at Providence Canyon State Park. These massive gullies create some of the most picturesque and colorful landscapes in the state. With soil that is pink, orange, red and purple – you’ll be sure to see things you’ve never seen before. So, grab a camera and a friend and sign up for this epic journey. We will be staying just a few miles from the park at a beautiful group site in Florence Marina State Park – overlooking the Walter F. George Lake which borders Georgia and Florida. Unfortunately, last minute cancellations are very difficult to refill. If needed, we will assist in attempting to refill your spot from a waiting list, but it is not guaranteed. If a refund is requested before the cutoff, we are happy to refund you 100% of the cost. HIKING LEVEL: D2-D4 Depending on trail/ Moderate with occasional Strenuous, hiking rain or shine. We will be driving approximately 15-20 mins from campground to each trailhead. ALL FOOD/SNACKS/DRINKS (included in your cost): Friday Lunch-Sandwich meat with all the vegy fix'ins, snacks • Dinner - Chili and Mac & Cheese Saturday Breakfast - Bacon & eggs with grits • Lunch-Sandwich meat with all the fix'ins, snacks • Dinner – Phil’s BBQ in Eufala, AL Sunday • Breakfast - Cereal, fruit • Lunch-Sandwich meat with all the fix'ins. AGENDA: Hiking to remarkable scenery each day, facilitated connecting, campfire worship music, roasting marshmallows, challenging devotional, watching and much relaxation and hanging out. TEMPS: Day 65-80, Night 40-55 (it is much cooler there!) GEAR TO BRING: Sleeping Bag, Pad, Pillow, towel, toiletries, camera, Bible, flashlight, day-pack, camp chair. *If you need any of these, just let us know. ATTIRE: Warm Jacket, Rain coat, 2 pairs of shoes in case one gets wet, cold weather clothes. WHAT NOT TO BRING: Children, animals, tobacco or alcohol TENTS: We have plenty of room! Bring your own tent and SLEEP ALONE! BATHROOMS: In the site with running water! Woohoo! Showers are located in the park as well and we have a covered pavilion! CARPOOLING: We will organize carpooling through email a week before. Make sure to keep an eye-out. IMPORTANT: (Please do not arrive past 9:30pm) TRAVEL TIME from Alpharetta: approx 3 Hours (without traffic) (Absolutely no arriving past 9:30pm) Some of us will be there early on Friday morning, so feel free to come earlier and relax and enjoy the day. If arriving Saturday Morning, you’ll need to leave before 6:00am if you wish to hike with us at 9:30am. KEEP IN MIND: that there are always dangerous elements when out in nature: Cliffs, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, icy, rocky and have steep embankments. Shoes may get muddy or wet. When hiking, many times the woods are your only bathroom. WAIVER: By attending, each person assumes all responsibility and liability for themselves and their actions and hereby releases Echo Ministries, its employees, directors, officers, agents, and volunteers from any and all liability resulting from any loss, injury, illness, damages, or death, while attending, participating or volunteering in this event.
