Hey Hikers! What better way to usher in the New Year than with seeing some jaw-dropping, blockbuster, absolutely amazing scenery that the Lord has provided! We will be hiking to several newly rediscovered waterfalls east of Cornelia. Some agility is needed for this one as we will be rock hoping some creeks, climbing over some obstacles, and scrambling down some steep ground, but it will be so worth it!!! *If you’re unsure whether this hike meets your abilities, call Greg* Join us for a day of awe-inspiring scenery, good exercise and great fellowship as we get out and explore God’s incredible creation. WEATHER PERMITTING: showers, it's off. TIME: 11am to 4:00pm (ish) with dinner. HIKE DIFFICULTY: D3+, (Total 4.5 mile hike – make sure to see above for description) Hiking Rating Scale: D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) mountainous, some steep TRAILHEAD LOCATION: Several waterfalls inside the Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area outside Cornelia ROADS: We will be on gravel roads for several miles. So, if you baby your car or have really low clearance, jump in with someone else at the final meet-point. DEVOTIONAL: We will do a short devotional at one of the falls. DINNER: Mexican in Cornelia WHAT TO BRING: Water and snacks *NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE GOOD TREAD on your shoes/boots or you will be on the ground a lot! Maybe bring 2 pairs of shoes if 1 gets wet.* Optional Things to Bring: Hiking Poles PLEASE NOTE: This is a single adult only event. Also, please do not bring pets or animals. KEEP IN MIND: There are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained or non-existent, slippery, rocky, icy and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
