We are going back to one of our favorite places in Tennessee, Fall Creek Falls. For those who have been there, you know how EPIC it is – but now, we’ve decided to go at a time of year that we’ve never been: autumn’s peak leaves. We have reserved a gigantic Bunkhouse in Fall Creek Falls which is one of the most amazing State Parks! This beautiful park encompasses a monumental 26,000 acres with some of the most dramatic waterfalls and unique formations in the country! Also, you can download apps for white noise straight to your phone. As always, we have ear plugs available. ATTIRE: Rain coat, 2 pairs of shoes in case one gets wet, shorts and long pants, BATHROOMS: Yes ladies, we have warm showers! Woohoo! CARPOOLING: We will send out an email to all on the roster 10 days before we leave so everyone can secure carpooling. Most people just leave cars at people’s houses. We are in Newton Ford Bunkhouse off of SR-284 a quarter mile from the Chinquapin Mountain Bike Trail. Be sure to look for maps and signs whenever you enter the park. KEEP IN MIND: that there are always dangerous elements when out in nature: Cliffs, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, icy, rocky and have steep embankments. Shoes may get muddy or wet. When hiking, many times the woods are your only bathroom.
