Unfortunately, last minute cancellations have been very hard to refill. HIKING LEVEL: D2-D4 Depending on trail/ Moderate with occasional Strenuous, hiking rain or shine. We will be driving 15-20 minutes from campground to reach each trailhead. FOOD (included in your cost): Thursday – Dinner: BBQ, baked beans and coleslaw. Friday – Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs with grits. Lunch- Chicken salad with pasta salad • Dinner- Build Your Own Burritos. Saturday – Breakfast: Pancakes and sausage Lunch-Tuna fish salad and broccoli salad. Dinner-Spaghetti and salad. Sunday – Breakfast: Cereal, oatmeal, grits and fruit IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE AFTER 9:00PM!!! PREPARE!!! ATTIRE: Prepare for warm, or rainy temps. 2 pairs of shoes in case one gets wet. Bring a jacket, just in case! WHAT TO BRING: Sleeping Bag, Pad/Air mattress, Pillow, Flashlight, Jacket, Rain coat, daypack, towel, toiletries, camera, Bible. OPTIONAL TO BRING: Your Bikes, Hiking poles, Camp chair, Bug spray, Sunblock TENT INFO: You may set up your own. We have plenty of space! BATHROOMS: Running water with flush toilets and sinks. Feel free to bring a solar shower! CARPOOLING: We will send an email out the week before to help make sure no one rides alone. ADDRESS: In your GPS, type “Linville Falls Rd” or “35.9686, -81.9314” VERY IMPORTANT: Do not go to the Linville Falls Campground RV Park – it is not the same! From I-40 East, take Highway 221 north to the Blue Ridge Parkway at Linville Falls. Go north for one mile to Linville Falls Spur Road, located at Milepost 317, and continue a half mile to the campground. CAMPSITES: We are in Group site 1 & Group site 2 – near the back, look for Echo signs. PLEASE NOTE: Alcohol, cigarettes and animals are not permitted at Echo events. All events are for legally single adults. KEEP IN MIND: that there are always dangerous elements when out in nature: Cliffs, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, icy, rocky and have steep embankments. Shoes may get muddy or wet. Many times the woods are your only bathroom.
