**THIS HIKE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO PANTHER CREEK. WE ARE NOT GOING TO HIGHLANDS, NC** Hello Hikers, it’s time once again to get out and explore God’s incredible creation. This is truly one of the most beautiful and rewarding summer hikes in Georgia. If you’ve never seen this stunning waterfall or refreshed yourself by either sitting under the falls or swimming in the pool at the base, then you’re in for a wonderful treat. So come join us for a day of awe-inspiring scenery, good exercise and great fellowship. Weather Permitting (rainy day- it’s off, sporadic showers- it’s on) please call if not sure. This is an event for single adults. HIKE DIFFICULTY: D4 (note miles) Total – 7 miles For your sake and the sake of the group, please do not assume beyond your ability. Hike difficulty rating scale D1 Easy (beginner hikers) D2 Easy to moderate (regular hikers) D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) D5 Strenuous (serious physical challenge) TRAIL DESCRIPTION The way in is mostly downhill and may seem relatively easy, but keep in mind the law of gravity in reverse, “what goes down must come up.” Some folks have struggled on the uphill going out after all those miles. You are mostly within either ear shot or eyesight of the creek because the trail parallels it the entire way. You will pass several lively cascades ending at a magnificent 75ft cascading waterfall and huge swimming hole where you can refresh yourself for the journey out.
