Unfortunately, last minute cancellations are very difficult to refill. HIKING LEVEL: D2-D4 Depending on trail/ Moderate with occasional Strenuous, hiking rain or shine. We will be driving 15-20 minutes from campground to reach each trailhead. FOOD (included in your cost): Thursday – Self-sustained (bring your own drinks, snacks and food) Friday – Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs with grits. Lunch-Sandwich meat with all the fix'ins • Dinner- design your own Burritos. Saturday – Breakfast: Pancakes and sausage Lunch-Tuna fish salad and broccoli salad. Dinner-Spaghetti and salad. Sunday – Breakfast: Cereal, oatmeal, grits and fruit AGENDA: Hiking to remarkable scenery each day, facilitated connecting, campfire worship music, roasting marshmallows, challenging devotionals, watching the sunrise (if desired) and much relaxation, and hanging out. TEMPS: Day 65-85, Night 60’s (it is much cooler at 5000 ft) GEAR TO BRING: Sleeping Bag, Pad, Pillow, towel, toiletries, camera, Bible, flashlight, daypack, camp chair. *If you need any of these, just let us know. ATTIRE: Raincoat, 2 pairs of shoes in case one gets wet. TENTS: We are only allowed 2 tents per site which means you will most likely need to share a tent with someone. BATHROOMS: Yes ladies, we have warm showers! Woohoo! CARPOOLING: We will send out an email approximately 10 days before with the roster to help coordinate carpooling. Most people just leave cars at houses. IMPORTANT: (Please do not arrive past 8:30pm) The earlier you leave on Friday the better in order to see the amazing views driving along the parkway. Sunset is 8:33pm. Sunrise 6:42am for you early risers coming up on Saturday morning. IMPORTANT: Gasoline is no longer available on the Parkway, so fill up before you get on. There is a small General Store at the Pisgah Inn, but Walmart, Gas and Groceries are over 1 hour away. ADDRESS: Campground is located on left between mile markers 408 and 409 on the Blue Ridge Pkwy (Across street from the Pisgah Inn- 408 Blue Ridge Parkway Waynesville, NC 28716) We will be in between C & D-Loops and look for the Echo trailer IF LOST PLEASE CALL: (cell doesn’t work well up there) Pisgah Inn 828-235-8228 KEEP IN MIND: that there are always dangerous elements when out in nature: Cliffs, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, icy, rocky and have steep embankments. Shoes may get muddy or wet. When hiking, many times the woods are your only bathroom.
