March's Light Hike will be to the Iron Hill Trial in Catersville! This 3.4 mile loop trail has wonderful scenic views by the lake. You can expect to see deer, heron or other wildlife through the trees. So join us for a day of awe-inspiring scenery, good exercise, fun and great fellowship as we get out and explore God’s incredible creation. *If you’ve never been to an Echo event, this is the perfect time to come! You will definitely meet other first-timers and leave feeling encouraged and connected* This will be a relatively easy hike with a difficulty level of D1 with a distance of 3.4 miles. D1 Easy (beginner hikers) mostly flat D2 Easy to moderate (regular hikers) some hills D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) mountainous D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) Steep grades/agility D5 Strenuous (serious physical challenge) Very steep and far ADDRESS: No address – put in your GPS, Iron Hill Trail or the coordinates below: 34.1394, -84.7003 PARKING: $5 – Get there early to get a parking spot! Parking is limited. TIME: 9:30am – 12:00pm DATE: March 11th 2023 WHAT TO BRING: Small Day Pack to carry your gear- rain jacket, camera, water, etc. Optional Things to Bring: Hiking Poles, No children or animals please. LUNCH: El Nopal Mexican Restaurant – 540 Old Mill Rd Cartersville, GA 30120. KEEP IN MIND: There are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, rocky, icy and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
