What better way to bring in the New Year than with an incredible hike to three breathtaking waterfalls? We will be venturing into the beautiful National Forest in Northern Habersham County. Come join us for a day of awe-inspiring scenery, good exercise and great fellowship as we get out and explore God’s incredible creation. WEATHER PERMITTING TRAIL DESCRIPTION: Approximately 3 mi R/T total. D3 (See scale below) 3 trails not too far from each other. Falls: Haven (aka His & Her) Falls, Minnehaha, Gold Dust HIKE DIFFICULTY: D3 Hiking Rating Scale: D1 Easy (beginner hikers) mostly flat D2 Easy to moderate (regular hikers) some hills D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) mountainous, some steep D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) Steep grades/moderate distance. WHAT TO BRING: Small Day Pack to carry your gear - rain jacket, camera, water, etc. Dress in layers! Also, bring a snack for the trail! Optional Things to Bring: Hiking Poles. PLEASE NOTE: Do not bring pets or children. CARPOOL MEETPOINTS: Please arrive ready to go with stomachs filled, cars gassed, and bladders empty. ***Carpooling is encouraged, but not required*** MUST READ: These are set up as a convenience; therefore, we do not know who will be at each location. • ALPHARETTA: Meet at Best Buy. Park in outer lot away from building, straight out from entrance. Meet at 8:30am. Leave at 8:35am sharp. • DAWSONVILLE: Meet at PUBLIX in outer lot by Chili's. Look for people in cars. Meet at 9:00, leave 9:05am sharp. • GWINNETT: Meet in the PARK & RIDE lot on Hwy 20. Park nearest the Golden Coral. Look for people in cars. Time 8:45am leave 8:50am sharp. KEEP IN MIND: There are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, rocky, icy and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
