November’s Light Hike will be the Lake Zwerner Trail/Yahoola Creek Reservoir in Dahlonega, GA. We'll hike around the lake plus have a few hills and old growth trees to enjoy. We will venture over the Dam and Yahoola Creek feeding the lake. So, come out as we enjoy some wonderful fellowship and great scenery together! This will be an easy hike with a difficulty level of D2 with a distance of 3.2 miles For your sake and the sake of the group, please do not assume beyond your ability. Hiking Rating Scale: D1 Hike Difficulty D1 Easy (beginner hikers) mostly flat D2 Easy to moderate (regular hikers) some hills D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) mountainous D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) Steep grades/agility D5 Strenuous (serious physical challenge) Very steep and far DATE: November 12th 2022 TIME: 9:30am – 12pm ADDRESS: 1330 Morrison Moore Pkwy E, Dahlonega, GA 30533 Entering Dahlonega on US 19, turn right on Morrison Moore Parkway. Continue past the Wal Mart on Morrison Moore Parkway for 1/4 mile. You will see Yahoola Creek reservoir on your right. Go straight thru the traffic light after the Wal Mart. GO TO THE 2ND PARKING LOT or the Boat Ramp Parking Lot. No parking fee. NO BATHROOM ON SITE LUNCH: Around noon at the Moe’s - 25 Morrison Moore Parkway; Dahlonega, GA 30533 WHAT TO BRING: Small Day Pack to carry your gear- rain jacket, camera, water, snacks, etc. Optional Things to Bring: Bible, Hiking Poles, First-Aid Kit, GPS. No children or animals please. KEEP IN MIND: There are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, rocky, icy and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
