We have an incredible day in store for you! First we will get our day right by spending time with the Lord. Enjoy some great food and fellowship and then head out to enjoy the peaceful and beautiful Chestatee River. Please join me at church at First Baptist Dawsonville on Sunday, August 21 at 11:00 am. We will have lunch downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. You may attend your own church and meet with us at the outfitters to rent our kayaks. We will chill on the Chestatee River enjoying sweet fellowship and God’s amazing creation. This kayak trip is a great way to spend a hot summer afternoon. The river is very secluded and there are all kinds of wildlife that roam the scenic river banks. FIRST TIMERS: If you are worried about fast waters, do not worry as this is a very slow meandering river. This is a Class 0 river and many first time kayakers have done this section without any problem, but if you need more information, contact Sandra Hunter. RENTAL COST: Single Kayak $29.00 includes shuttle. PLEASE NOTE: We have a reservation so you do not have to call them in advance, but each person will pay at the location. Bottled Water will be available. After lunch we will head to Chestatee River Adventures. TIME ON RIVER: Approximately 2.5 hours WHAT TO BRING: You will get wet. Change of clothes for after, Modest swimsuit, sneakers or sandals you can get wet, for walking in water on rocks. Water/Gatorade, snacks, sunblock, sunglasses with strap. Outfitter has gear, helmets, life jackets. MEET AT OUTFITTER: We will meet at 2:00 pm.
