This Labor Day we invite you to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the tranquility of a lakeside getaway while basking in the scenery of God's beauty. We will be going into the Carolinas to stay at a new state-of-the-art retreat in Keowee Toxaway State Park. Amazingly, you will have your choice of either staying in a climate-controlled bunkhouse or staying outside in your tent to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Saturday • Breakfast - Bacon, eggs and grits • Lunch -Sandwich meat with all the fix'ins • Dinner- design your own Burritos, snacks. Sunday • Breakfast - Pancakes • Lunch -Sandwich meat with all the fix'ins, snacks • Dinner - Spaghetti and salad. Monday • Breakfast -Cereal AGENDA: Hiking to remarkable scenery each day or relaxing by the lake, kayaking/canoeing (supplied for no additional cost), floating on a tube, paddle board, cornhole games, facilitated connecting, worship music, challenging devotional, playing cards or board games. GEAR TO BRING: Your own linens or a Sleeping Bag, Pillow, towel, toiletries, camera, Bible, daypack, headlamps, camp chair. *If you need any of these, just let us know. ATTIRE: Light rain-coat, 2 pairs of shoes in case one gets wet, shorts – it is sure to be warm, modest swimsuit if you want to go in. Women – no bikinis. Men – no speedos. CARPOOLING: Best to coordinate ahead of time when you are going. You can post on FB event wall for others to see, or wait till the week of when we'll send out an email to all those on the roster. KEEP IN MIND: that there are always dangerous elements when out in nature: Cliffs, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, icy, rocky and have steep embankments. Shoes may get muddy or wet. When hiking, many times the woods are your only bathroom. WAIVER: By attending, each person assumes all responsibility and liability for themselves and their actions and hereby releases Echo Ministries, its employees, directors, officers, agents, and volunteers from any and all liability resulting from any loss, injury, illness (including coronavirus), damages, or death, while attending, participating or volunteering in this event.
