Light Hike to Ivy Creek Trail in Buford

The July Light Hike will be to the beautiful Ivy Creek Greenway Trail over the Suspension Bridge to the Wildlife Observation Trail. This will be in the opposite direction from our Light Hike in May. We'll have a little of everything from Ivy Creek to easy rolling hills and mature forests lush with vegetation. There are no parking fees, plenty of parking spaces and real bathrooms. This will be an easy hike with a difficulty level of D - 2 with a distance of 3 miles. For your sake and the sake of the group, please do not assume beyond your ability. Hiking Rating Scale: D1 Easy (beginner hikers) mostly flat D2 Easy to moderate (regular hikers) some hills D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) mountainous D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) Steep grades/agility D5 Strenuous (serious physical challenge) Very steep and far The GPS address is 2020 Clean Water Drive; Buford, GA 30519 TIME: 9:30am – 12pm WHAT TO BRING: Small Day Pack to carry your gear- rain jacket, camera, water, snacks, etc. Optional Things to Bring: Bible, Hiking Poles, First-Aid Kit, GPS. No children or animals please. Lunch will be at the Mall of Georgia Food Court around noon. KEEP IN MIND: There are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, rocky, icy and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
