Our first IN-PERSON event since March 14th is THIS SATURDAY and we want you to come to see Woodward Mill Falls! This will be a very easy hike along the gorgeous Ivy Creek Greenway, below the Mall of Georgia, and ending at a beaver pond! We know that this event is not for everyone as some people are not ready to join groups. As we slowly begin to meet in-person again – there’s a couple things we want you to know. • We will do our best to monitor and remind everyone about social distancing; however, please take it upon yourself to decide if you are ready to participate in a group event. • In an effort to practice social distancing responsibly, we will divide into groups of ten or less. Thankfully, this has a wide path which makes it easier to practice social distancing while conversing. • We love you, but if you are not feeling well, please make sure to stay home… • We will not hand out name tags so please bring your own. • PLEASE NOTE: We would love to hug ALL of you… However, we are trying to create a safe environment so we ask everyone to PLEASE refrain from hugging or shaking hands. This will be an easy hike with a difficulty level of D -1 with a distance of 3 miles. Hiking Rating Scale: D - 1 Hike Difficulty D1 Easy (beginner hikers) mostly flat D2 Easy to moderate (regular hikers) some hills D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) mountainous D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) Steep grades/agility D5 Strenuous (serious physical challenge) Very steep and far The GPS address is 2020 Clean Water Drive; Buford, GA 30519 Just park in the Gwinnett Environmental Center parking lot and look for the friendly ECHO folks. TIME: 9:30am – 12pm LUNCH: Around 12pm at the Mall of Georgia Food Court – we will break off into groups of under 10 as we practice social distancing. KEEP IN MIND: There are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, rocky, icy and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet.
