Our Light Hike for October will be to George Pierce Park. For those seeking beauty and tranquility, the trails at George Pierce Park in Suwanee is the answer! This beautiful park of Gwinnett County boosts of the cool and crisp autumn air. It is definitely a favorite to locals. The park itself consist of wildlife filled wetlands over boardwalks, and dirt and paved trails throughout. This will be an easy hike for beginners, that is relatively flat. Location GPS: 55 Buford Hwy, Suwanee GA 30024 Parking is free at the park. Go to the very back parking lot once you get there. TIME: 9:30am – 12:00pm Hike Description: Easy flat hike with a level of D-2, with a distance of 3 miles. Hiking Rating Scale: D-2 D1 Easy Beginner Hike D2 Easy to Moderate D3 Moderate (cardio workout) mountainous D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) with steep grades/agility D5 Strenuous (serious physical challenge) with steep inclines What to Bring: Rain-jacket, Water Optional Items: camera, snacks No children or animals please. Lunch: Will be around noon at Your Pie, 3370 Lawrenceville Suwanee Rd, Suwanee GA https://yourpie.com/stores/suwanee/ CARPOOL: Our carpools are setup as a convenience, we cannot guarantee anyone will be at the location. Meet in front of the Best Buy at the intersection of Haynes Bridge and North Point at 8:40am, to depart at 8:50am. Keep In Mind: There are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, rocky, icy and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
