What better way to usher in the start of summer than with a little outdoor excitement and beauty shooting the upper Chattahoochee River. We will be doing Section 3 outside Cleveland from the 115 Bridge to down to Duncan Bridge known as the whitewater section. This trip takes 2.5 to 3 hours and depending on water levels it contains many class 2 and 3 rapids, WOOHOO!!! Water/Gatoraid. Outfitter has gear, helmets, life jacket and maybe wet-suit if you need it. What NOT to bring: Alcohol, cigarettes, children, animals, a complaining spirit, a different agenda. CARPOOL INFO: Carpooling is encouraged, but not required. these are set up as a convenience, therefore we do not k now who will be at each location. Please arrive ready to go with stomachs filled, cars gased, and bladders empty, and please leave on time. Alpharetta: Best Buy on Northpoint Dr and Haynes Bridge. Park in outer lot straight out from entrance next to Immediate Healthcare. Meet at 1:05pm Leave at 1:15pm sharp. Go Hwy 400 toward Cleveland. NOT 369 into Gainesville. Gwinnett: Meet in the outer parking lot at the Wal-mart on Hwy 20 just east of 985. Time 1:35pm leave 1:45pm sharp. Look for folks in cars. Go 365 to left at 384 to bridge. Cumming/Dawsonville: Meet at Browns Bridge Church at 1:20pm and leave 1:30pm sharp. Church is just east of 400 on Hwy 369. Go Hwy 400 toward Cleveland. NOT 369 into Gainesville. IMPORTANT: No Cleveland meetpoint. We will meet at Wildwood Outfitters: NOT the one outside Helen! We are going to 26 Megan Dr Cleveland, GA 30528 Next to Duncan Bridge on SR384 aka Duncan Bridge Rd. Arrive by 2:15pm. Take 115 east from Cleveland to right on 384 to left side of bridge. KEEP IN MIND: that there are always dangerous elements when out in nature: Water hazards, cliffs, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, sharp objects, falling limbs or rocks, Brier Bush, Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, Poison Sumac, etc. Clothes may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
