Our light hike for this month will be to the beautiful 1,000 acre preserve just outside of Cleveland, Georgia! With it being Spring and everything in full bloom, we will be hiking along the scenic lake trail and into surrounding forest. Expect great pictures! Come join us for a little slice of paradise! *THIS IS NOT YONAH MOUNTAIN TRAILHEAD - This is 15 minutes away* WEATHER PERMITTING (All day rain, it’s off) Call if not sure! TIME: 10am to 12:30pm with Lunch HIKE DIFFICULTY: D2 Some Hills, (Total 4 mile hike) Hiking Rating Scale: D1 Easy (beginner hikers) mostly flat D2 Easy to moderate (regular hikers) some hills D3 Moderate (a cardio workout) mountainous, some steep D4 Moderate to strenuous (challenging workout) Steep grades/moderate distance. D5 Strenuous (serious physical challenge) Very steep and far TRAILHEAD LOCATION: 1054 Albert Reid RD, Cleveland, GA 30528. TRAIL DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful new trail in Yonah Preserve. (Not by Yonah Mt) DEVOTIONAL: We will do a short devotional halfway. LUNCH: El Capeseno in Cleveland across from Burger King directly after the hike. WHAT TO BRING: rain jacket, camera, water, etc. PLEASE NOTE: This is a single adult only event. Also, please do not bring pets or animals. Thank you for your cooperation. CARPOOL MEETPOINTS: Please arrive ready to go with stomachs filled, cars gased, and bladders empty. ***Carpooling is encouraged, but not required. ***MUST READ: These are set up as a convenience, therefore we do not know who will be at each location. You do not need to drive to other meet points except the final in Clayton. • ALPHARETTA: Meet at Best Buy. Park in outer lot away from building, straight out from entrance. Meet at 8:25am Leave at 8:30am sharp. • DAWSONVILLE: Meet at PUBLIX in outer lot by Chili's. Look for people in cars. Meet at 9:00am, leave 9:05am sharp. • GWINNETT: Meet in the PARK & RIDE lot on Hwy 20. Park nearest the Golden Coral. Look for people in cars. Time 9:40am leave 9:45am sharp. ADDRESS: 1054 Albert Reid RD, Cleveland, GA 30528 KEEP IN MIND: There are always dangerous and unforeseen elements when out in nature: Cliffs, water hazards, weather, animals, insects, reptiles, falling limbs or rocks, Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac, etc. Trails may be un-maintained, slippery, rocky, icy and have steep embankments. Shoes and clothing may get muddy or wet. The woods are your bathroom.
