Did you know there are currently 103.5 million single adults in America? That's one out of every three people in this country. That is staggering. If the harvest was ever plentiful and workers few, it surely is in the demographic of singles. There needs to be a way to reach them for Jesus Christ. As you probably know, there are very few churches with any sort of adult singles ministry. And the few that do, seem to really only scratch the surface.
So what's the solution?
We believe the Lord will use Echo Ministries to be that solution. Currently, we are hosting our events in various locations all instead of having a centralized location which could better serve our singles. Our long-term goal has always been to create a replicable model in other cities and areas around our nation and the world. With the amount of people attending our events, and virtually no support from local churches, we are often at the mercy of high costs, inadequate venues or inopportune times to facilitate these group environments.
So, dream with me for a moment...
What would it look like if Echo Ministries had a campus that would be a safe-haven for singles both young and old, Christian and non-Christian? Dream with me for a moment about a place that is designed where architecture and aesthetics intersect to create multiple environments around one idea, "Christ Centered Community for Single Adults." Singles need environments that are both: fun and relevant, relaxing and healthy. Christian singles need a campus that give us the opportunity to invite some of our non-believing friends to a Christ centered environment that isn't too "churchy." It's an alternative to the unhealthy, unholy and sinful lifestyle of the world.
So, what would it look like if.... We had a really modern and large coffee house where we could hang out and do our Echo Unplugged Concerts? What would it look like if... we had an auditorium for speakers, worship services and could double as a movie theater? What if we had our own classrooms where multiple Bible studies, book studies and seminars where we could help to equip singles with their walk with the Lord, as well as for good Godly marriages? What if we had an outdoor pavilion and amphitheater where we could host Christian dramas and concerts? What about volleyball courts, a softball field where we could host fun fellowship and family events?
What would it look like if... we had a large dining hall and a library, etc, etc, etc? The sky is the limit! You might be saying to yourself, "How in the world is this going to get accomplished?" Let me remind you what the Bible says, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26. This is how we are going to do it, with prayer, hard work, trusting in the Lord, and building in phases. The first phase is to acquire between 10 - 20 acres of property in a centralized location, with an approximate cost in the ballpark of $1,000,000.
God willing, we will do this in the coming year. "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3.
